Privacy Policy
Last updated 29 October 2026
- Right now we only collect your email address when you join the waitlist.
- We use it to tell you when Choccy launches and to reserve your founding member badge.
- We never sell your data, and you can unsubscribe or ask us to delete it at any time.
Who we are
Choccy is a hot chocolate rating app, starting in the UK and growing worldwide. It is run by Feyaaz, based in the UK. We are responsible for the personal data described here under UK data protection law (UK GDPR). You can contact us at hello@choccy.club.
What we collect
- Your email address, when you join the waitlist.
- The date you signed up and your founding member number, if you are one of the first 25.
- Basic technical information our website host records automatically, such as your IP address and browser type, to keep the site running and secure.
- Anything you choose to tell us if you email us.
Why we use it
We use your email to tell you when Choccy launches, send occasional updates before launch, and give you your founding member badge if you qualify. We do this because you asked us to by joining the waitlist (your consent). You can withdraw that consent at any time.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted providers, who only process your data on our behalf:
- Netlify hosts this website and stores waitlist sign-ups.
- Google Fonts supplies the website's font, so Google receives your IP address when the page loads.
- Google Workspace runs our email, so if you write to hello@choccy.club, your message is stored there.
These providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the safeguards they offer under UK data protection law. If we start using an email service to send updates, we will name it here. We never sell your data or share it with advertisers.
Cookies
This website does not use cookies, analytics or tracking. If that changes, we will update this page and ask for your permission first where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your email until Choccy launches and for as long as you stay subscribed. If you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, we will remove it within [30] days.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it. To do any of these, email hello@choccy.club. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
The Choccy app
When the app launches, it will collect more information, such as your reviews, photos and location while you use it. The app will have its own privacy policy, and we will update this page before then.
Changes to this policy
If we make important changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and let waitlist members know by email.
